PERSONALLY SPEAKING No1:
Can I
have your leaf blower?
As has been noted elsewhere
on this site (click here to read this
>>), moving to Spain can be
compared to the
2000-mile journey
across America one hundred and fifty years ago that was how the West was
won. Echoes of the deprivations of life on the wagon trail were heard on a
recent removal when our clients arrived to find the builders still putting
in the boiler and every room cluttered with tools.
The only option was to shack up for a few nights in the small town's one and
only hotel. Now in every Western movie it's well known that when strangers
come to town, there's never a warm welcome. The hotel's heating system had
not been serviced since the time when, thousands of miles across the
Atlantic, the settlers were first arriving in California.
Back in Spain, in the shadow of the Sierra Nevada, the heat-servicing
omission was near life-threatening. But as the cowboys used to say, when the
going gets tough, the tough get going. Or, failing that, they try to see the
funny side...
Somebody had spotted a brand new leaf blower in the removal load. Now if
that leaf blower's owner should die from the cold, could that somebody
please have the blower?
